    Advice and strategic solutions

    What we do

As the no. 1 house in mergers & acquisitions*, we combine advisory expertise, strong global industry knowledge and local intelligence to offer advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and primary equity capital market transactions.

Our Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) teams advise both buyers and targets, and also offer advice on other strategic financial issues and privatisations. Primary capital market services include IPOs, equity issues, secondary issue placements, and convertible/exchangeable bond issues. Our full-service platform means clients can expect optimal integrated solutions which result from a breadth and depth of expertise.

    Where you can work

Our two main hubs are in Europe and Asia, but our 400-strong team also has a growing presence in Africa, the Middle East and the Americas.

  • Compliance & Control

A 380-strong team, protecting our business and clients.

    What we do

In Compliance & Control (C&C), we protect the bank against breaches of codes, procedures, laws and ethics covering issues such as ‘Know Your Customer’, anti-money laundering legislation, market abuse, conflicts of interest and confidentiality of information.

By playing a crucial advisory role and providing effective internal control frameworks, we protect BNP Paribas’s assets and reputation around the world. We also enforce professional ethics at the firm by championing and embedding a strong compliance and control culture. This helps teams across the firm to not only understand, but also further mitigate our risks.

We also lead major projects and initiatives to tackle specific governance issues and control themes, such as our drive to reduce internal fraud risk.

Because of an ever-increasing focus on this area, it’s now more important than ever that we hire the very best talent for our C&C team.

    Where you can work

We employ 380 staff across 40 countries, mostly in Europe, the US and Asia.

  • Technology

Integral to our business, now and in the future.

    What we do

Information Technology touches every part of BNP Paribas and underpins every deal we make. When a system is unavailable, millions can be lost, so robust programmes and infrastructure aren’t just important – they are fundamental to our success.

In the Information Technology team, we develop, introduce and maintain cutting-edge applications right across the firm. Our key objective is to apply our expertise to business problems and deliver high-quality, practical solutions.

This could mean developing new applications for trading floors and downstream areas such as the Back Office, coding new modelling strategies, setting up the infrastructure for a new office, or working with other functions to develop risk measurement tools.

    What you’ll need

To join this team, strong technical skills are clearly essential. However, you must also have a good grasp of business issues. After all, you’ll have to understand the needs of colleagues from all areas of the bank. We’ll also be looking for a creative approach to problem solving and an interest in emerging technologies.

At BNP Paribas we work in a Windows and Unix environment, using C++, Java, .NET, VB, Oracle and SQL Server.

    Where you can work

Our Information Technology function operates in over 50 countries and has headquarters in Paris, London, New York and India.

  • Operations

    Excellence is assured.

In Operations, we work to develop processes and structures to ensure all the firm’s transactions are completed smoothly, accurately and on time. Our work supports and enhances the performance of other divisions, and helps to integrate new acquisitions into the organisation.

Whether the challenge involves incorporating new offices or business lines, managing projects, handling operational risk, or managing large numbers of complex transactions, the Operations team is always up to the task.

It’s often the design and implementation of processes that enable us to complete transactions quickly and accurately – which can make all the difference in our highly competitive industry. Operational excellence enhances our reputation and ensures clients come back again.
